The NEW GREEN: Sustainable Editorial Design

Overview: This editorial project explores the future of environmental responsibility through the lens of design and packaging. Developed as a comprehensive magazine, "The NEW GREEN" serves as a visual and informational resource for sustainable practices, ethical production, and eco-friendly innovation. The project involved extensive research into sustainable materials and modern typography to create a publication that is as environmentally conscious in its message as it is sophisticated in its aesthetic.

Role: Editorial Designer & Lead Researcher

Concept: "Design for Longevity"

The concept focuses on the "New Green"—moving away from clichés of environmentalism and toward a high-end, editorial approach to ethics. By blending a minimalist aesthetic with deep-dive research into future generations' needs, the project positions sustainability as a desirable, modern lifestyle rather than a set of restrictions.

Problem / Challenge: A significant challenge was balancing a large amount of technical information about eco-friendly practices with a high-end, minimalist aesthetic. I had to ensure that the magazine felt "editorial" and professional rather than looking like a textbook. Additionally, researching truly ethical and effective packaging solutions required a deep dive into material science to ensure the design solutions proposed were practically viable for future generations.

Solution: I designed a clean, grid-based layout that prioritizes readability and visual breathing room, reflecting the "less is more" philosophy of sustainability. Using a refined typographic hierarchy and a carefully selected color palette, I transformed complex environmental data into engaging, digestible spreads. The solution also included mockups of ethical packaging systems, demonstrating how sustainable design can maintain a premium feel without compromising environmental integrity.

Tools: Adobe InDesign (Layout & Type), Illustrator (Vector Graphics), Photoshop (Image Processing & Mockups), and Sustainable Material Research.
